Kathleen Sebelius To Be Named Obama Vice President

My money is on Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius to be Barack Obama's pick for Vice President.

Senator Obama has a news conference scheduled in Springfield, Illinois on Saturday at the same location where he announced his run for the White House.

The Obama/Sebelius ticket will be announced at that event.

That's the conclusion I've drawn after talking with political junkies from sea to shining sea over the past two weeks; including some with connections to the campaign.

Sebelius, I think, is a good pick. She was elected Governor of the State of Kansas in 2003 and was returned to office in 2006.

These two paragraphs from the Governor's biography speak volumes...

At the heart of Governor Sebelius’ administration is a commitment to growing the Kansas economy and creating jobs; ensuring every Kansas child receives a quality education; protecting Kansas families and communities; improving access to quality, affordable health care; and taking advantage of the state’s renewable energy assets.

Through a commitment to making the state’s business climate more attractive – and by balancing the state budget without raising taxes – the Kansas economy has rebounded resulting in low unemployment and the creation of thousands of new jobs.

I'm still working on McCain's pick. The picture is hazy at best on the Republican side. The only thing I can say with certainty at this point is that the pick will not be Jeb Bush.

Stay tuned....

Maybe that's true. I'm hoping that Obama picks Evan Bayh.

Interesting Observation but if he picks anyone other then Hillary he will lose...He has the opportunity to make History but if his arrogance gets in the way of History & He can't see the greater picture of making History with a Woman then he doesn't deserve to make History...

Wow...That's a brave move, but I think a very intelligent one given that everyone was die hard to vote for Hillary...

Very strategic and smart, in my opinion!

I think that Sebelius would have been a clever choice, and might have defused the Republican Party's "Palin" card before they could play it. Obama made a serious error going with Biden, and ultimately I think it will cost him in the end.

That said, I don't care for Sebelius (I've gone to school with her kids and know the family to some degree), or at least most of her policies. She's too liberal for my taste, but then liberal is the soup de jour of the Democratic Party these days.

...Sigh...
