This is my 42nd post since February 17th.

I point this out because I ran across two websites when I had a chance to do a bit of surfing earlier tonight. One National Blog Posting Month aka NaBloPoMo is dedicated to posting every day for one month, the other Blog 365 is built around the goal of posting every day for a year, except for leap day. {Yes, they got my birthday off to party hearty}

As things stand, I'm in the running, albeit only five days in, to do NaBloPoMo in March. It's not something I'm shooting for and, I expect, if it comes down to it I'd purposefully miss one day not to achieve "the goal" as it were.

I say that because NaBloPoMo is an offshoot of NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month - which I detest.

What I'd like to see is a group dedicated to maxing out on Pay Per Post for one year. I believe you can do two sponsored posts per day, per blog. Since you need one free post in between paid ones, figure on four posts per day. That's 1,460 posts in one year.

It's good to see them looking for feedback on how things worked out for those who use the service. It would be better if results/feedback was readily accessible for viewing.

It's been a good week in the blogosphere for me.

The best thing about Pay Per Post, aside from being paid to blog, is that it presents a creative challenge. It's easy to get into a comfortable groove; writing a certain thing in the ceratin way. When you post more frequently what was comfortable can get monotonous rather quickly.

The most successful salespeople I know listen more than they talk when meeting with a potential customer.

Working in a home office is great, because I don't have to deal with salespeople knocking on my door. When I did have an office I equipped it with a video camera system. I used those tapes when I did training for clients.

The Challenge of Pay Per Post

I've taken some heat in the past for running Pay Per Post spots. Some readers find it to be an intrusion.

When the distinction between a "normal" post and a paid spot is blurred, as in the following one, it becomes most troublesome. People can feel, for lack of a better word, betrayed to learn what they are reading is an advertisement.

The advertiser designated no reference to sponsorship in the post, only site-wide disclosure. Good for the advertiser; not necessarily for the writer or audience.

Where the problem arises for me is when there's an aspect of my life, again as in the following spot, that melds well with the content necessary in the text.

Most frustrating, I suppose, is that most people who blog are not writers. {They complain.} More difficult in that circumstance, I'm guessing, to understand why another person would want paid to do what you are doing for free.

Let's face it, regardless of the medium, there's an expectation to be paid when a writer writes. If not immediately, in the future. That's part of learning your craft.

When I was asked for help during todays A Strategic Alliance meeting I didn't hesitate to say yes, I would do Pay Per Post ads again. If I were in need, I would hope for the same. If it costs me readers, that's the price I pay to do what's Right.

This Pay Per Post requested website review is a bit different than some others. Time is quickly passing by until Mother's Day...so that makes sites like this extremely important.

When you first land on DelightfulDeliveries.com' website - featuring fruit baskets - it's a bit overwhelming.

A picture dominates the page, partitioned into six panes and incorporating what appears to be some sort of flash-based menu. It's a great picture, but it's BIG and incorporating the menu makes it a bit too much. That's unfortunate, because the pages to which you link through the menu are well done. One of them is Celebrate Mom. Another Divine Chocolate. A third, Fresh Baked.


It needs to be said here, DelightfulDeliveries.com has a GREAT selection of high quality products. And it's not just for Mother's Day. There's a menu on the left side of the page listing a number of holidays and occasions for which you can buy gifts.

The problem with this site is as much wonderful stuff as they have to offer, there are too, too, too many menus packed into this homepage. They would be much better off simplifying the site's default page. Likely removing some of the detail in terms of menu button and links and incorporating drop down menus would serve the company much better.


That said, the most important thing is that this is a website where I would buy gifts. It's worth the effort to navigate to be able to find exactly what you want. They may very well have it. When you consider what you have to deal with at the mall, just to park let alone walking from store to store, this is a breeze.

Capturing An Australian Moment

I picked up writing this Pay Per Post spot for my friends in Australia.

It's always enjoyable when people post photographs of the place they live; allowing you a look into their world. I don't think it's the camera that makes the picture. As with anything, though, having the right tool to do the job helps achieve superior results.
