What Better Way To Say Good-Bye To Summer?

Yesterday was the last full day of summer; autumn arrives this morning at about 11:30. It's always struck me interesting that the seasons change not only on a particular day, but at a specific time.

Amazing that the rose bush outside my dining room window blossomed yesterday morning. Yes, this is, officially, the last rose of summer. What makes it especially notable is that there was only one other rose on this bush all season and it was the first one that came out!

Looking at this rose this morning I couldn't get over how beautiful it is. What better way to say good-bye to summer?

Your post and the pictures were just a gift to me at the end of a very long and busy day.
You have a sensitive eye and soul.
Deeply interesting!

You ended summer beautifully. Also some beautiful Autumn stuff (my personal favorite time of year). Congratulations on 4 years of publication. What an awesome job you have done. You cover it all and to me that puts you on the A List.

For some odd reason flowers illustrate the perfect transition from season to season, and though 12 months seems like such a long time, before you know it life is in bloom again!
