A Tour Of Sicily... And The Pleasures Of The Flesh

It's rare that TheSpecialOne and I do touristy things when we travel. It's the first time either of us have been to Italy, though, and we've enjoyed the opportunity to explore Sicily.

That's not to say we've denied ourselves the time, or that we've failed to create opportunities, to enjoy the pleasures of the flesh. To be sure, we've made of point of basking in wave after wave of orgasmic joy.

Well, that thought lasted just a bit too long. So much so, in fact, that I had to step away. Only to be enveloped in a tsunami of pleasure.

Where was I?

Oh, yes, we made our way around Sicily today to visit a few of the tourist hot spots.

We began our day with a visit to Taormina. If you visit Sicily, you must visit the amphitheatre here. That is, the Teatro Greco {Greek theatre}.


Next, we made our way to Cefalù.

To be honest, what I enjoyed most about Cefalù was the view we had while we ate lunch. We lingered long, enjoying both the food and each others company.


After lunch we headed south, traveling across the island to the cities of Siracusa, Rausa and Girgenti.

There's no shortage of beautiful landscapes in Sicily. It says something, I suppose, about how much TheSpecialOne and I are enjoying ourselves, in that these are the only two photographs I shot along the way.


There's no shortages of things to see in Siracusa. The one I wanted to share with you is the Roman Aphitheatre...


Rausa is an interesting city; for the geography alone, if nothing else. It was built on a wide limestone hill between two deep valleys, Cava San Leonardo and Cava Santa Domenica.


Our last stop was Girgenti, where we toured the Valley of the Temples....


That's going to have to be all for now. It's just past midnight and TheSpecialOne and I are going out to enjoy Catania once more before leaving for Rome tomorrow.
