TheSpecialOne joined a gym for women this summer. She grew tired of going to workout and having guys hit on her. It's gone very well for her. While I make sure she gets frequent aerobic workouts 8-) it's not a structured regime like she gets at the gym.
I have never had a diet that is consistently healthy. There's a place I frequent that makes the best bacon cheeseburgers and beer batter dipped onion rings. And I'm a potato chip fanatic. I also love... No, I better stop there or I'll have to stop writing to go out for a bite. TheSpecialOne has really helped me with my diet. What I've found, though, is if I try to deprive myself of the foods I like I end up binging. I do much better having what I want, when I want, in limited quantities.
For me, the real benefit of personal training was learning how to get the most out of the time I devote to working out. I need to have diversity or I get bored with the routine. I lift weights a few times a week - other than 12 ounce Heineken curls - bike or treadmill and also do stretching exercises.
It has been interesting writing this post - sponsored by www.noexcusesgym.com - because I find myself alternating between thoughts of TheSpecialOne and a half pound bacon cheeseburger. I'm sure I'll be working out tomorrow one way or another.
