1,000

You receive as you give.

Sometimes you do. Sometimes you don't. Yes, as in life, there is an ebb and flow in The Blogosphere. Planning or predicting what will happen based on what you do, more times than not, is time not well spent.

One must though, I think, have faith.

As I set off publishing the next installment of A Hitchhiker's Guide To The Blogosphere I'm also doing an experiment.

With the publishing of this post I will be tracking comments, the number I write and the number I receive. I'm curious how it fleshes out when either 1,000 comments have been written or received.

Have any comment on the experiment?

Of course, with this as any experiment, part of the trouble is in deciding how to define the results. One way is simply to see what the ration of comments given to comments received is and leave it there. Another would be to determine the rate of comments received while leaving, say, 10 a week elsewhere, then pick up the pace and see if the pace changes.

What is in a measure?
You could get 1,000,000 Comments that say something trite and not add any value to your world and in fact pollute the blogspage universe, or one really good comment that causes much thought and introspection. I for one would prefer the latter.
