Eliminate Debt, Increase Joy

Debt, I believes, drains joy from our lives. That goes for individuals as well as nations.

Debt is a burden you carry; a cause of worry that can confound, frustrate and in the worst cases drive you mad.

If you are in a situation where avoidable debt (that not caused by something like medical emergency) is something on your mind, I encourage you in the strongest possible terms to seek Debt Management assistance.

Don't allow pride to get in your way; dismiss any fear you have about asking for help.

When all is said and done getting assistance to get your debt under control and, ultimately, wiped out may well turn out to be one of the best things you ever accomplish.

The four things I have found to control spending and avoid debt are...
  1. Creating a budget
  2. Keep track of where you spend money
  3. Controlling discretionary spending
  4. Use only cash

School is usefull for so many reasons but why ... is money management not something on the curriculum. I am awful at managing my money nevery knowing what is in the bank and using my debit card for every single purchase including my morning coffee. It's so bad I am usually with out any cash on me. As an adult I should be ashamed but your piece is enlightening! All the best... thanks! M
