Welcome To The Four-Year Blogiversary Bash

"Too much of a good thing is wonderful."
-Mae West

Greetings, one and all, and welcome to the Blogiversary Bash, in celebration of the four-year blogiversary of The Gonzo Papers.

Cue the music... It's time for Hors d'oeuvres and Drinks!

There are plenty of delicious dishes to be sampled, throughout this dinner party, so I hope you're hungry.

Never under estimate the value of a moment, my friends, and when any blog is still rolling after four years it's perfect time to celebrate.

No blog carnival is a historic event, of course, but it's a great way to meet other bloggers and forge new relationships.

It takes some people a great deal of time to find their way in the blogosphere and to forge relationships, this is a great starting off point for anyone who is new and a way to gain even better footing for established bloggers.

The point of setting up the carnival as a dinner, of course, is making it enjoyable to move from one portion to another, because it's the journey that matters.

It's no mystery, after all, the reason I devote time to putting these carnivals together is to provide a way to support my blogger friends.

Let's enjoy the Appetizers course because it's no hoax to say there's plenty of great content to check out.... Of course, I don't want to say too much.

You'll find, as a blogger, whether you have a post in the carnival or not, if you visit all or most of the entries and write meaningful comments on each one, you'll come away from a blog carnival with new friends, some who become as close as family.

Moving to the First Course...

I'd like to remind you, my friends, that there is joy to be had, all around us, and much natural beauty, so don't miss it.

Blogs, remember, are the ultimate social media platform so make the most of this opportunity to gain benefit from this gathering.

As anyone does who pulls off a successful dinner, I've made every effort to be sure the offerings are of high quality.

It's time for the Main Course...

Great food is a must for any successful dinner party and I'd rate the entries in this carnival as five-stars.

Having an opportunity for education, especially when it's done in a way that's fun, makes any day more worthwhile and I wouldn't want to disappoint in the context of a blog carnival.

You don't want to exit too soon, because there's one more portion you don't want to miss. I trust anyone with good intuition already knew that.

Anyone who puts together a list of Dos and Don'ts on hosting or attending a dinner party will tell you... Dessert must be memorable.

Some people consider it strange to craft a carnival in this manner, not clearly identifying each entry, but to me it makes the experience more fun and that's what a good dessert course must be.

Surely a weekend getaway is a perfect way to make this dessert course memorable.

I have no plans on shutting down The Gonzo Papers any time soon, but I must say if it was time for the curtain to come down there wouldn't be a better way to say good-bye to the blogosphere than sharing time with friends.

That wraps up the Blogiversary Bash, other than to say... to all who have helped promote this carnival and to everyone who will I have two words, Thank You.

{If I, by chance, missed your entry among the 847 messages currently sitting in my Inbox let me know.}}

I introduced myself to everyone and tasted all the food. Had a little too much to drink, but had a wonderful time all the same. Can't wait until next time. Thanks for letting me sleep on your couch.
