The Last Road Trip - Part 10

I, along with The Master Baiter, spoke to Al's wife and TheSpecialOne at La Alegría last night.

We agreed that a change in plans would be a good idea, something to raise the spiritual bar.

Thanks to the private pilot The Master Baiter has on call we lifted off from Carmel Monterey Peninsula Airport and, instead of returning to Colorado, came to Sedona, Arizona.

We checked out a handful of spots between Mendocino County and Monterey County during the week we were in California. The closest we came to spreading Al's ashes was here....


The Master Baiter actually plugged the coordinates into his GPS {Does the iPhone have an app for everything?} and we returned here three more times.

We considered this spot so seriously that the last time I popped in a CD we'll be leaving behind when we spread the ashes. I believe that Al would appreciate having music at what will be one of the most important moments we've shared.

The one thing traveling along Highway 1 made me realize is this, it was a good decision not to take Al to Cape Cod because I dont think I'll have any enthusiasm about returning to the Pacific Coast any time soon.
